Welcome to Prevost '59, the website
for our "Class of 1959", a small class of thirty five seniors, one of the
finest to ever graduate from Msgr. Prevost High School in Fall River,
Massachusetts. And also a website to share with our classmates from other
years with reunion pictures. I put something together from our yearbook and
associated pamphlet for us to share our own website. I will
continue to make changes to it as we go along. I hope you enjoy it and help
me make it better.
This is our website,
for the graduating class of '59 and for all those who attended or graduated
from Prevost. Please leave your name and
comments on our "Sign In"
page and it will be posted for all to share. Any other comments or
suggestions, you can e-mail me at
Webmaster@Prevost59.Org .
For those of you who have lost contact
over the years with the rest of the class members as we lived our lives and
spread out in numerous directions to far off places and adventures, here is
the chance to reconnect with those guys we shared those four great and
exciting years at Prevost High School. Year 2009 was 50 years since our
high school graduation and we celebrated with an informal Get Together on
Friday night, July 31 at the Peking Garden. Most classmates attended the Alumni Reunion at White's Restaurant,
Saturday, August 1, 2009 our graduating class's
"50th Year Reunion". Check out our reunion pictures.
This year 2022, the
Classes of '70, '71, '72
celebrated their 50th Year Golden Jubilee
. The
2020 and 2021 Prevost Reunions did not take place due to the CoronaVirus.
The Classes of 1970, 1971 and 1972 celebrated a final Gala Reunion on
Saturday July 30, 2022.
In other words "The Last Roundup!"
And
the sad news of the last reunion of our alumni association is compounded by
the announcement of the termination of the association itself. The
scholarship fund will be donated to FACE (The Foundation to Advance Catholic
Education) upon approval by the voting membership of the association at the
annual meeting at the 2022 reunion. Please see the latest Maple Leaf
Newsletter for more information on this.
As the Association was made
possible over the years by so many volunteers and committee members who have
devoted their time and resources to make all the reunions possible and to
organize the fundraising and distribution the scholarship fund, publishing
and mailing the Maple Leaf Newsletter and keeping us informed, we owe a BIG
THANK YOU to all of them. And a special thanks to Robert A. Chouinard, Paul A.
Dumais Jr, Raymond Cyr, Arthur Francoeur, and Paul Berube. We were fortunate
to have these dedicated members. And a Big Thank You to all the Brothers of
Christian Instruction who taught us to be all that we could be and who we
are today. (And sometimes they had to beat it into us, well for me anyways
and I'm grateful for that).
Thanks for visiting and come back
often to see the updates to this website and don't forget the pictures and
stories which I will post and share on this site. Thanks and I hope to hear
from you.
I dedicate this site to the memory of
Gerry Letourneau, my friend and childhood buddy, classmate at Ste. Anne's
School Class of '55 and Prevost High Class of '59 and cool saxophone player of our band the
"Belle-Aires", and organizer of our alumni members.
